Royal Australasian College of Surgeons 81st Scientific Congress, Kuala Lumpur, Malayasia
During May, Professor Paul Bannon, Professor Brian McCaughan and Dr Tristan Yan will be co-convening the Cardiothoracic Surgery Section of the Congress.
In addition to Paul, Brian and Tristan’s presentations, a number of our surgeons and doctors are presenting including: Dr Michael Wilson, Assoc. Professor Michael Vallely, Dr Christopher Cao, Ben Robinson and Reece Davies.
Professor Bannon has also been invited to speak at the 8th Biennial Pakistan Cardiac Society Meeting in Islamabad in May and before that will be attending the Mt Sinai Aortic Symposium in New York!

Baird Announces First Patron
We are thrilled to announce that Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, Governor of New South Wales, has become the first Patron of The Baird Institute.
Professor Bashir's widespread involvements and interests have included juvenile justice, research on adolescent depression, health issues in developing countries, education for health professionals and telemedicine and new technologies for health service delivery.

The Baird Institute Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary
In 2011 The Baird Institute celebrated its first decade of acheivements in late October. At a gala dinner held in Sydney, many of The Baird Institute supporters and benefactors came together to acknowledge the achievements and progress the organisation has made over the past 10 years.
