The impact of this tumour on the community continues to grow. The impact on individuals is catastrophic. Advances in surgery have already demonstrated some improvement in lifestyle and perhaps longevity. Advances in “triple therapy” demand further exploration into the impacts of modalities in the search for a cure.

Research Focus:

• Nationwide standardised tissue sampling and data collection needs continued support and development.
• The role of extended surgery in search of a cure is the principle focus of this group.
• Further research into mesothelioma treatment, specifically “triple therapy” – a treatment strategy that begins with chemotherapy, followed by surgery, and then radiation
